WHY THEY ERR?
Matthew 22:29
Jesus answered and said unto them, Ye do err, not knowing the scriptures, nor the power of God.

THEY ERR BECAUSE THEY DO NOT KNOW THE SCRIPTURES.
(NOT BECAUSE THEY DO NOT READ THE SCRIPTURES)
Luke 24
25 Then he said unto them, O fools, and slow of heart to believe all that the prophets have spoken:
26 Ought not Christ to have suffered these things, and to enter into his glory?
27 And beginning at Moses and all the prophets, he expounded unto them in all the scriptures the things concerning himself.
ALL SCRIPTURES HAVE ALWAYS BEEN ABOUT CHRIST. AND NOW CHRIST IS COME. DIED. BURIED. RESURRECTED. WE SHOULD CONCERN OURSELVES WITH CHRIST AND HIS FINISHED WORK AS WE READ SCRIPTURES.
IT WILL BE FOOLISH TO TRY TO BELIEVE CHRIST FROM THE STANDPOINT OF THE LAW AND PROPHETS.
FIRST BELIEVE CHRIST AND HIS FINISHED WORK AND SEE HOW EASY IT IS TO UNDERSTAND SCRIPTURES.
BUT NO. THEY CONCERN THEMSELVES WITH MOSES AND THE PROPHETS AND SEEK TO MEASURE CHRIST BY THE LAW.
SO, FROM THAT FOUNTAIN, THEIR ERROR FLOWS...
CHRIST IS THE POWER OF GOD.
THEY DO NOT KNOW SCRIPTURES FROM THE POINT OF THE POWER OF GOD.
WHAT IS THE POWER OF GOD?
1 Cor 1:18 For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.
OUR PREACHING OF THE CROSS; THAT IS CHRIST'S FINISHED WORK (IT WAS ON THE CROSS CHRIST SAID 'IT IS FINISHED') IS FOOLISHNESS TO THEM.
ONLY WE WHO ARE SAVED (PAST TENSE!!!) KNOW THE POWER OF GOD.
ONLY WE TRULY KNOW THE SCRIPTURES.
THUS, THEY ERR.
