WHO ARE THE ELECT? THE PURPOSE OF ELECTION. AND WHY WE PREACH THE GOSPEL.

READ THIS SCRIPTURE (HOLD UNTO THE WORD 'ELECT')

1 Peter 1King James Version (KJV)

1 Peter, an apostle of Jesus Christ, to the strangers scattered throughout Pontus, Galatia, Cappadocia, Asia, and Bithynia,

2 Elect according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, through sanctification of the Spirit, unto obedience and sprinkling of the blood of Jesus Christ: Grace unto you, and peace, be multiplied.

3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,

4 To an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you,

5 Who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.

1. THEY WERE ELECTED ACCORDING TO THE FOREKNOWLEDGE OF GOD THE FATHER. MEANING, THE FATHER CHOSE THEM BEFORE THE FOUNDATION OF THE WORLD.

2. THEY WERE ELECTED THROUGH SANCTIFICATION OF THE SPIRIT. ONCE. THEY WERE FOREKNOWN, THE HOLY SPIRIT WENT INTO ACTION; SANTIFIYING THEM, ORDERING THEIR LIVES TO THAT END.

3. THEY WERE ELECTED UNTO THE OBEDIENCE AND THE SPRINKLING OF THE BLOOD OF JESUS CHRIST. THIS IS THE END THAT THE FATHER HAD CHOSEN THEM FOR, AND THE HOLY SPIRIT HAD BEEN WORKING TOWARDS. THAT THEY COME TO THE SAVING POWER OF THE BLOOD OF CHRIST.

4. THE ELECT ARE THE BORN-AGAIN. THE BEGOTTENS OF THE FATHER(SEE VS 3). THE SAME THAT WAS SAID OF CHRIST BEING 'THE ONLY BEGOTTEN' AND NOW THE 'FIRST BEGOTTEN' BECAUSE HE HAS BROUGHT MANY SONS UNTO GLORY BY HIS RESURRECTION.

5. THE ELECT HAVE AN INCORRUPTIBLE INHERITANCE, RESERVED IN HEAVEN BY THE REASON OF THEIR ELECTION.

6. THE ELECT ARE KEPT BY THE POWER OF GOD - THROUGH FAITH. THE FULLNESS OF THEIR SALVATION WILL BE REVEALED AT LAST, BUT UNTIL THEN, THE POWER OF GOD KEEPS THEM BECAUSE OF ELECTION.

ELECTION IS THE OTHER WORD FOR 'GRACE'

Romans 11:6-8(NIV)

6 And if by grace, then it cannot be based on works; if it were, grace would no longer be grace.

7 What then? What the people of Israel sought so earnestly they did not obtain. The elect among them did, but the others were hardened, 8 as it is written:

“God gave them a spirit of stupor,

eyes that could not see

and ears that could not hear,

to this very day.”

ANY ONE THAT BELIEVES IN CHRIST WAS ELECTED. AND ANYONE THAT REFUSES CHRIST WAS HARDENED. DID YOU READ IT ? ... the people of Israel sought so earnestly they did not obtain. The elect among them did, but the others were hardened...

DON'T EVEN BOTHER TO ARGUE. THAT IS ELECTION.

THIS WILL MAKE YOU VALUE YOUR SALVATION AND IN TURN, EVERY BELIVER IN CHRIST JESUS. IT WILL ALSO HELP THOSE WHO KEEP SAYING AN ELECT CAN LOSE HIS SALVATION.

LET US DRIVE IT FURTHER HOME.

Romans 9:10-12 (NIV)

10 Not only that, but Rebekah’s children were conceived at the same time by our father Isaac. 11 Yet, before the twins were born or had done anything good or bad—in order that God’s purpose in election might stand: 12 not by works but by him who calls—she was told, “The older will serve the younger.”

TWINS. BORN SAME WAY, SAME DAY. ONE ELECTED, THE OTHER NOT. BEFORE THEY WERE EVEN BORN, GOD CHOSE THEM. THEIR WORKS WERE NOT INVOLVED IN ANYWAY, PLEASE TAKE NOTE '...before the twins were born or had done anything good or bad...'

STRONG IMPOSSIBILITIES BECAUSE OF ELECTION

1. NO ELECT (ANYONE SAVED BY CHRIST JESUS) WILL MISS THE TRUMPET. MEANING NO ELECT WILL MISS HEAVEN.

Matthew 24:30-31 (NIV)

30 “Then will appear the sign of the Son of Man in heaven. And then all the peoples of the earth[a] will mourn when they see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven, with power and great glory.[b] 31 And he will send his angels with a loud trumpet call, and they will gather his elect from the four winds, from one end of the heavens to the other

2. NO ELECT WILL BE DECEIVED BY THE FALSE GOSPEL.

Mark 13:22

For false messiahs and false prophets will appear and perform signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect.

1 John 2:27

But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him.

3. NO ELECT WILL BE IN THE GREAT TRIBULATION

Matthew 24:21-22 (KJV)

21 For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be.

22 And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect's sake those days shall be shortened.

THIS IS THE REST AND PEACE THAT THE ELECT HAS IN CHRIST JESUS. NO FEAR WHATSOEVER OF BEING CONDEMNED OR MISSING IT AT LAST.

ARE OTHERS TO BE LEFT ALONE FOR GOD TO DRAW THEM, SINCE HE ALONE KNOWS HIS ELECTED? NO.

2 Timothy 2:10

Therefore I endure everything for the sake of the elect, that they too may obtain the salvation that is in Christ Jesus, with eternal glory.

WE DON'T KNOW WHO GOD ELECTED, BUT WE KNOW GOD DESIRES ALL MEN TO BE SAVED. SO WE PREACH THAT THE ELECT MIGHT HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY OF SALVATION. AND WHAT A PRIVILEGE; THAT AN ELECT CAME TO SALVATION THROUGH THE FOOLISHNESS OF MY PREACHING!

1 Timothy 2:3-5 (KJV)

3 For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour;

4 Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.

5 For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;

Romans 10

13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.

14 How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher?

15 And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!

WHAT IS GOD'S PURPOSE IN ELECTION?

PLEASE, THIS IS THE POINT I AM SO EAGER TO MAKE.

READ THIS SCRIPTURE AGAIN;

GOD CHOSE TO SAVE BY ELECTION TO ELIMINATE THE INVOLVEMENT OF ANY MAN'S EFFORT IN ANY WAY.

MSG; What God did in this case made it perfectly plain that his purpose is not a hit-or-miss thing dependent on what we do or don’t do, but a sure thing determined by his decision, flowing steadily from his initiative.

AMP; so that God’s purpose [His choice, His election] would stand, not because of works [done by either child], but because of [the plan of] Him who calls them

AMPC; in order further to carry out God’s purpose of selection (election, choice), which depends not on works or what men can do, but on Him Who calls [them],

CEB; they hadn’t yet done anything good or bad, it was shown that God’s purpose would continue because it was based on his choice.

CJB; (so that God’s plan might remain a matter of his sovereign choice, not dependent on what they did, but on God, who does the calling),

PHILLIPS; plainly showing that God’s act of choice has nothing to do with achievements, good or bad, but is entirely a matter of his will.

NLV; It could not be changed because of anything the older son tried to do about it. It was before either one had done anything good or bad.

WE ARE SAVED BY ELECTION.
